Dedicated Bridge Lane Now Available to Canada-Bound NEXUS Participants at Queenston-Lewiston Crossing
New lane designation will help expedite border travel for active program members
LEWISTON, NY/QUEENSTON, ON – Today the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) announced the designation of a dedicated lane for Canada-bound NEXUS program participants at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge. This exclusive pathway will help streamline the NEXUS experience at the crossing, while providing another added benefit to trusted travel program membership. Motorists will be advised of the designated bridge lane via overhead variable message signage reading, “Trucks/Buses/NEXUS.”
“The Commission is constantly exploring and implementing operational tweaks throughout our facilities in order to improve the overall border travel experience,” said NFBC General Manager Lew Holloway. “And the new Queenston-Lewiston Bridge lane designation for NEXUS card holders is a perfect example of that ongoing focus.”
To accommodate this enhancement, the Queenston Plaza NEXUS inspection booth was relocated to the far right portion of the primary inspection line, thereby allowing for direct access by trusted travelers/travellers utilizing the designated lane feature.
The Canada-bound NEXUS lane at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge is available to program participants seven days a week, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (EST). Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has also recently announced that in addition to the regular NEXUS inspection booth, a second “peak-travel” NEXUS booth will be accessible during certain high-volume periods. The U.S.-bound NEXUS lane at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge is open to commuters Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.

About the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission:
A Joint Resolution of the 1938 U.S. Congressional Third Session created the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission. The Extra Provincial Corporations Act of the Province of Ontario, Canada licenses the NFBC. Canada and the U.S. are equally represented on the NFBC by an eight-member Board of Commissioners. Initially established to finance, construct and operate the Rainbow Bridge, the Commission proved sufficiently efficient and effective to assume responsibilities for the Whirlpool Rapids (Lower) and Lewiston-Queenston Bridges. The NFBC builds and maintains all facilities for Customs and Immigration functions on both sides of the international border. The NFBC is self supportive, largely through user fees (tolls) and private-sector tenant leases. NFBC is federally chartered to conduct international commercial financial transactions and issue federal (U.S.) tax-exempt bonds.
